Painterman Redesign

Having already done an X-Cart setup for the sister site, www.painterguides.com, there was an urgent need to recreate the client’s main site that pertained to his primary business, professional home painting. This project posed many challenges since the previous host had unfortunately and inadvertently damaged many of the pages and functionality of the site’s pages. Therefore, we had to reconstruct it from images. All the galleries and lightbox effects had to be regenerated from scratch.The site is comprised mostly of images showcasing before and after, tips and how to’s, a list of services, some downloadable PDF files for references, customer testimonials and contact information.

The entire layout is done in CSS and the use of Jquery and lightbox effects. The color scheme and graphics were the original concept provided by the client including the logo. SimcoMedia now provides the hosting.

The Kitchen Outlet

The Kitchen Outlet’s main focus was a very simple design as requested by the site owner. Xcart was used to provide the shopping cart system which allowed for easy customization and functionality. The product line focuses on kitchen gadgets and popular salad dressings. The website also compliments their street fair business where their high-traffic store is located. The website draws nearly 30,000 visitors monthly.

SimcoMedia provided the initial installation of the shopping cart system, the creation of all product images, the creation of the initial product database and hosting. Currently the client handles the updates of products to the cart using the administration panel that comes with Xcart.

Prestige Fundraisers

Prestige Fundraisers began as a redesign that also included the integration of a complete online ordering system where schools, organizations and churches could log in and place orders for bulk fundraising products such as candies, candles and cookie dough. The system involved the creation of an automated daily export of the orders in a specific CSV format that would be imported into their office system for processing.

SimcoMedia created the design, all product images, established the shopping cart system, custom coded the wholesale ordering system, created all the various marketing graphics for their special fundraisers and promotions and hosted the site.

SimcoMedia is no longer involved in the upkeep and design of the site. Those responsibilities were turned over to an employee of the company in 2007.

Eastside College Consultants

Eastside College Consultants provides college counseling and enrollment assistance for graduating seniors moving on to colleges and universities. Their main focus is the Greater Seattle area school districts. The site is consists of two sections. One done in strict HTML and another section utilizing WordPress.

The WordPress section was integrated for the purpose of showcasing approximately 80 articles pertaining to college tuitions, requirements and assistance in order to provide content related to their services and assist in search engine placement. This helped tremendously in gaining first page Google placement for various keywords related to their industry and service area.

Momin USA

Momin USA sells and distributes a variety of cosmetic products and grooming aids specializing in high quality tweezers and manicure utensils. The need was for an online store that provided access to both retail and wholesale sales. The unique and colorful design scheme was determined by the site owner and compiled by our design staff. Some Flash elements were also incorporated in order to emphasize certain products and services.

A shopping cart system was created to allow for easy shopping and checkout through various merchant providers. It also allows for easy maintenance of product inventory.

Product images, including thumbnails, were created by our graphics staff to ensure clarity and proper dimensions for viewing. The product inventory was inserted into the cart’s database structure utilizing an Excel spreadsheet import system.

Hosting

SimcoMedia also provides hosting services for this client.

HG Photography

HG Photography

HG Photography had created a previous site that did not fully showcase the talents and services of their local photography business. The goal was to create the ability to showcase their work through online galleries, establish a comprehensive list of their photography services, and enhance their search engine presence.

The Design

The layout and color scheme were chosen by the site owners. Their primary focus was to provide a simple and clean layout that they could also make changes to personally. Therefore, it was important to avoid confusing code and complicated functions. The site owners use a standard HTML editor to make their changes.

The Galleries

We created a Flash controlled gallery system with XML files for image and text changes. The Flash galleries allow for various sizes and image orientation while maintaining a high resolution view of their work. We spent ample time with the clients demonstrating how to modify and upload the XML files for controlling and adding to the galleries.

SEO

Once again, we regionalized his sphere of influence to concentrate on the portrait and event photography services. At this time the website is their number one source of new business due to the search engine rankings.

Mr. Mobile Auto

Mr Mobile Auto

Mr. Mobile Auto had a previous website built using a WYSIWYG style editor and template system that needed serious reorganization and navigation. Additionally, the Meta tags were prohibiting reasonable search engine placement. Our goals were to create content that would showcase the various services, emphasize the fleet maintenance service, generate new leads utilizing specific regionalized search terms and provide easy contact information for visitors.The project involved converting the entire site into a PHP based format from its previous HTML format so that certain elements could be controlled dynamically. This also allowed for the use of common headers, menus and footer elements to provide easier future updating.

SEO Changes

We determined a reasonable geographic area that he could cover in relation to mobile automotive services and repairs, optimized the title and description tags for that purpose. As a result of those changes the site gained first page exposure and began generating multiple inquiries weekly using the search term “seattle mobile auto repair” as well as other variations.

Hosting

We also moved the website from an obviously slow and over-crowded system to our hosting services. This helped to speed up the site’s loading time, allowed us much easier access through our Cpanel based software, and provided the site owner with easier maintenance and accessibility.

Hemet Mobility

This project was a complete redesign of what was then an existing do-it-yourself site that contained little content and poor graphics presentation. SimcoMedia created a custom design based upon some printed literature they distributed for promotions. Hemet Mobility offered wheelchair and mobility products both online and in their main store in California.

SimcoMedia installed a shopping cart system, created all product images and imported their initial product database as part of the project. The home page featured a Flash animation for handicapped accessible vans that was custom created.

Current Status

SimcoMedia turned over the site maintenance and design to the site owner in 1997 and is no longer involved in the updating and current site design. The image below was our original home page layout and custom design.

EA2 1 on 1 Tutoring

EA2 provides private one-on-one tutoring to students from kindergarten through high school for a wide variety of subjects. They have three locations around the Greater Seattle area and are fully acreditted

This project included a conversion from their previous design to a WordPress based system to allow for content management and additional functionality via plugins.

Current Status

SimcoMedia is not currently involved in the latest revisions of the website as they have utilized the services of a close relative familiar with HTML and WordPress to assume the ongoing changes.

Spirit Of America Fundraisers
